Annual Chili Cook-Off Features Rascal Martinez

Rascal Martinez entertained the crowd at Saturday’s Chili Cook-Off held at the community center in Arnold. Organizers Allison Goodenow and Debbie Connelly said it was a packed house for Chamber’s annual event, with nine teams setting up booths, and residents lining up for a bowl of soup, including contestants’ chili. By the end of serving time, all of the soup was gone. Martinez was a big draw. “We had him booked from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., but the crowd wanted to hear more, so we passed around a basket and raised enough money for him to play another hour. People of all ages sang and danced along. He was great with the kids, and had them do “The Floss” along with a couple of other dance moves,” said Debbie. The band was sponsored by local businesses and individuals.

Touch of Grace Massage earned the prize for “Best Chili.”

Grazers Bar & Grill and Homegrown Kids Daycare were among award winners for best booth and delicious chili at the Cook Off.
