Snow Brings Perfect Weather for Eating Chili

As the eight teams prepared their pots of chili on Saturday, March 5, for the 33rd Annual Chili Cook Off, snow was falling – something the area hasn’t seen much of all winter long. Despite the snowstorm, some 150 people warmed up by tasting a good variety of chili made by the contestants. Chicken noodle and potato soup was also served by Chamber, and the St. Agnes women curbed everyone’s sweet tooth by selling pie by the slice.

Rascal Martinez came back to Arnold, entertaining the crowd with a mix of rockabilly, folk and country.

Prizes were awarded for 1st, 2nd, an 3rd place chili, People’s Choice, Mr. & Ms. Congeniality, and Best Decorated Booth.

To help pass the time while their chili was cooking, contestants competed in a corn hole tournament early in the day.

Please turn to page 8 for full results of all prizes that were awarded.

Ali Goodenow chaired the event for Chamber.
